Mine was stuck after I had all the bolts/nuts off too. Had to take an old wood chisel that I use for a scraper and tap it in on either side of those studs to pop it loose. It was corroded to the studs, plus the original gasket is very thin paper and the top was sort of "glued" to the transmission case all the way around.
