I just remembered that we used to run a John Deere #5 mower on Dad's H. We had a small diameter Allis-Chalmers cylinder to lift the bar, and had to add a flow restictor in the hose to prevent the bar from coming up so fast that it would break things. It was set up that way for as many years as I can remember,and it did not hurt the lift-all pump.
