That alternator has a built in regulator so you don't need that little black box regulator. To wire it up you take the big post on the alterntor and wire it to the battery or soliniod hot side either works, the #2 lead from the little plug goes to the big post on the alternator and the #1 lead goes to the switch, the side of the switch that isn't hot till the switch is turned on. You also need a lite bulb or diode in the wire going to the switch. My self I prefer the diodes radio shack part # 276-1661
