Do you relize just how far the tierod goes into the tube on a 1066 and how much you will weaken the tube by doing that and what would happen if ya hit a dead farrow and that tube split and the wheel turn and stop and then there is a vary good chance that you would break the ft. axel off they do break as a 1066 is a vary heavy tractor as it can weigh in up to 20000 lbs fully loaded and if you are worken ground in high 1st or 2nd and you break a tierod and the ft wheel goes goofe and snaps that ft. axle off you could end up flyen off the seat and off the tractor as they do stop real fast . Many years ago this happen to me when i was mowen gas line wright of way and found a BIG hole and the ft axel found it and snaped off and i was throwen over the hood just vary lucky that the tractor stalled and stopped dead or i would have been run over and malulched up and spit out in vary fine littel pices . So if that tierod will NOT COME APART With a littel heat or the hdy pressen of grease being pumped into it or pulled apart then it is as plain as the nose on your face THROW IT AWAY AND GET A NEW ONE> Think SAFTEY IT"S YOUR LIFE you are screwen with.

Id probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this green planet.
