The leak you describe may very well be from the belly pump, but it is likely that you have leaky seals in the transmission case where the transmission shaft and the countershaft enter. You will probably drop the belly pump in any event. Lots of info on changing these seals in the archives, and I would check there first and then we can answer any questions you still have.
