Flat belt gear box seal replacement

Tractor vet pulled bolts out of out put bearing retainer and removed the output shaft looks like gear and bearings are pressed onto shaft at the end of the shaft was a thick flat washer with two 3/8 fine thread bolts and fold over locks removed them and couldn't get gear and bearing to move is heat the answer or do I need to take in to the shop at work and put it in the press or is there a better way of removing the gear and bearings to replace seal.
