My dad's 1066 was the same way. When they purchased the tractor it only had 1500 hours on it. Every morning you would need to add at least a quart of oil when working it hard. They have since overhauled the engine (new series B sleeves and pistons). Now it seems like the oil level never drops. Maybe the tractors you have that don't use any oil have series B sleeves and pistons in them.

We had a mixed farm consisting of grain and dairy all done with old machinery and by hand.
