The rims were either galvanized or painted a silver color, not sure when IH started having them painted, early 60's I think. There is no color code, as IH only requested that the supplier use rust protection. I use a GM rally wheel color, sort of a silver-gray color. Some people use aluminum -- that is too bright to suit me as galvanized is somewhat dull.
