Is this a starter/generator or just a generator? Do you have a regulator or a charge relay? Confused yet?? I had the same problems with my charging system. Pull the cover off of the regulator if it has only one coil it is a relay, two and it is a voltage regulator. Start the tractor with the cover off and see if the coil pulls down if not you may need a new reg these normally come with all the instructions you'll need. If this doesn't help send me an e-mail and I'll dig in my books.
