Don't know about the plug types but the "hotter " you are refering to means the plug tip in the cylinder runs thermally hotter not electrically hotter . A hotter plug will burn off deposits from the tip better than a colder plug . It usually means the tip is slightly longer in a hotter plug so it takes longer for the heat of combustion to travel through the plug thread area into the head . Use hotter if you have a fouling problem ( oil , gas ) . If the plugs look glazed ( like a pottery piece ) or the tips are melting or eroding use a colder plug . Good luck . ...Randy
