If tapping the carb lightly seems to improve the way it runs I would pull the carb and rebuild it.The kits are available at Napa or TSC for around thirty to forty dollars and a good tune up couldn't hurt either.But the carb should do the trick from what your sying sounds like the needle is hanging up in the seat......Hope this help...River Bottom Farmer
