The diagram in the parts manual is better. The pistons pull out, perhaps with some difficulty. What I think you are calling the "head" is actually the top cover, not all units have that, the one on my C that I have had apart doesn't. The head is actually the thick piece at the rear of the reservoir, that is the way the thing comes apart. You can tell which o-rings by comparing them with the existing ones. I have not seen the nuts on the pistons, but, again my unit does not have the top cover that exposes the pistons -- I may be misinterpreting your description though. I haven't had mine apart for 4 years.
