How many positions does your light switch have? If the light switch has 3 positions (Off-Dim-Bright), the tractor is equipped with a voltage regulator to control the charging current. If the light switch has 4 positions (Low charge-High charge-Dim-Bright) charging current is manually controlled by the light switch. I think all A's and early Super A's came with the 4 position light switch - later Super A's were equipped with voltage regulators and a 3 position switches.
