It's a gas. I wonder if I could use a front cover, rails, and bolster off a row crop to make it a narrow front and then fab a spindle and steering linkage, as it'd be stripped of the hyd. system and pto? But then i'd have a steering gear in the bolster and could just fab a steering shaft couldn't I? I bet I could make this work. That'd lose weight from the axle and steering box. Then non-essential 5th gear parts could be removed and/or pared down. Could I be looking at 3500 pound weight class? Or do I just sound like a raving lunatic?
