Broken pieces from Transmission

Decided to drain the oil from the transmission/rear end on my "51 Super A today due to its "brown" color. When it was finished I stuck my finger in the drain hole to see if there was any crud laying on the bottom and found these 2 broken pieces. I can't find anything in the Parts Book that they might have broken off of. Transmission works ok, usual gear noise, no PTO/belt pulley on this tractor. Any ideas?
