I might be a poor guy to ask. I own a Hydro 86 and put 2-3 hundred hours a year baling hay and loader work. I love the Hydro for that. for other field work I prefer a gear drive and have an old turboed 656 that I dearly love, in fact I just bought a 666 and it also has a turbo. The poor old Hydro with the transmission hogging 15 20 horse and then not having the advantage of the turbo is realy doggy. No wonder it's a love-hate relationship. You do what you want but unless you realy want the infinate speed control you might be happier with a gear drive.
