Super C Release bearing

Have old style solid release bearing on 52 Super C. Should I go with ball bearing type and new carrier or get old style from IH place? (CLutch release bearing)
From what I can gather, I have to buy a new carrier for the bearing type release or buy the old style release and carier as one unit. Thanks in advance for your inputs. 3/8" left on old SOLID bearing before it hits metal on carrier.
