Han, I believe the 3116 is a slightly hotter heat range plug then the 386 but a tad colder then the 388, HOWEVER whats more important is the 386 is a resistor plug while the 3116 is a NON resistor plug. Its especially important on Magneto Ignitions to use wire core plug wires and non resistor plugs so one doesnt waste energy in the resistances versus discharging it all across the plug gap where its needed the most. I recommend NON resistor plugs in the old Mag or Coil Ignitions plus a heat range hotter then specified if the tractor is used for parades and light duty or the engines worn which can help reduce premature plug fouling.
