I don't plan on useing a belt pulley on this tractor. I was going to make a new gasket, but didn't know if i needed to cut out for the oil passage. I can shine a light threw the top of the transmission and it doesn't look like any of the oil is getting to the lower pto shaft. the houseing on the inside looks like it is dry. I filled it to the correct level but did not think about it before i drained it out to get a look at the gear teeth and bearings. That is the reason i asked about the oil passage and the gasket. looks like it wouldn't hurt to leave it open. does the tranny level plug account for the pto?as far as capacity? becouse i added till it ran out the forward level plug, but did not add another pint with the plug in. could this be the reason it isn't getting lubed?
