IH 424 question again

While looking for leaks around the break shaft where it comes out of the tractor, I found a hole underneath the part that mounts on housing. This is the part with the shims behind it. The hole looks like it's about the size of a grease fitting hole. Since these are dry brakes and no grease fitting is needed in the area, does anyone have an idea what it is there for?
