Farmall H Year???

Recently purchased an H and from what I have read it would be a 1943 because it has the cut off wheels with a rim welded onto the flat steel spokes. Any way I was told you could tell the year of farmalls by looking at the pedistal between the front wheels. Well this tractor has 8.26.V, has anyone seen this and or know what the V means? Also does any one know how many H were produced in 1943?
