What's to say the 186 rear end will not have issues of its own. As others have said the park brake and rear hitch are fairlly easy and inexpensive to repair. I don't know what noises your rear end is makeing but I know my 1066 open station makes lots of noises at differant speeds and power levels, has since it was new. Keep in mind those fenders make a great set of amplifiers. If it were mine, unless they are nasty noises, I would have the park brake and hitch fixed then go do your feild work, [remember you have that german beast as a back up] and see if the noise gets worse then decide if major repairs [gut tells me you won't] are needed this spring before haying season. If worse comes to worse and she breaks down you have an emergency reason to go buy that other tractor you are getting an itch for, maybe a nice 1066?
