I believe the intention of the reproductions is to replace drawbars that are missing completely, or are too badly worn or mangled to repair. If you've got a repairable original, that will always be better than a reproduction. ...and the original drawbars aren't exactly the strongest things, either. Dad bent the one on the M years ago, and ended up welding a heavy strap to the bottom to beef it up. The 400 he bought 3 years ago had the same thing done to its original drawbar. My Super H, purchased last year, also had the drawbar reinforced, but that one may not be original.
