Good day
My last post on this subject was that my newly installed alternator decided to pump out about 17 volts continuously so I replaced the alternator with another rebuilt and every thing was cool. I asked a few questions on here about the old alternator and got some good information. So I wanna thank those guys.

El Toro - thanks for leading me to the site for regulators. I got the part number, went to NAPA and they got me one for about 8 loonies. Went to your suggested site for replacing it, not too bad, they forgot to tell me about the springs and brushes popping out when I pulled the rotor! Not to worry, installed new regulator, got brushes back in holders and held them with little piece of wire while I assembled the alternator.
Bob M - your advice and your wiring diagrams are superb. I have installled a bigger diode and a 10 ohm resistor on the tractor now.
Yugrcart - You were bang on about "The Source" here in Canada. I went on line, found them, they had diodes and resistors, I ordered them and they delivered them to my doorstep by Purolator for 2 loonies!

So, the end result - after I installed the regulator in the alternator, I tried it out on the C and it works perfectly.
Now I have a spare alternator for another tractor - hmmm, am I gonna have to buy something else?!!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys!!

Today's Featured Article - The Day Mom Drove the 8N - by Brian Browning. My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o ... [Read Article]
