Howdy, I rebuilt a farmall A a while ago and pumped my stearing gear box full of grease. NO MESS is all I have to say. Above the bearing is a grease fitting on my A. Not sure if it came that way or not. The proper plug on top is VENTED. Which works great if you are pumping grease into it. I can send you pictures if you like. I rebuilt mine after taking it completely apart. I also replaced all bearings and seals along with the gasket on the two halfs. I usually run a very very small bead, (not more than a 1/16th of an inch) of black silicone on both sides of the gasket. Probably not nessesary, but it works for me. If you need pictures or help, let me know. MACE
