I have a 48 h that I rebuilt the engine in last summer. I adjusted the timing according to the ih shop manual and set the points according to the manual too. I did not mess with anything inside the mag. Before the rebuild it started nice with the crank. Now, it is a son of a bean peeler to start by hand with the crank. It starts ok with the electric start and has PLENTY of power, but it remains hard to start by hand, especially when the motor is already warmed up. It also seems to start more easily when it is facing somewhat down hill. What the heck did I do wrong? I would welcome any suggestions.
