H4 Magneto Distributor Gear Timing

I am in the process of rebuilding an IH H4 Magneto, replacing the coil, and all of the points and stuff. Inadvertantly I took apart the Distributor Timing Gear and took the gears out to check it and regrease it. Now I am not sure how to line it back up. It came off of a Farmall M, so it is a Clockwise Rotation, which should line up with the "R" on the Distributor spindle. But I am not sure of the marked tooth on the pinion. How is this tooth marked? Is it painted? What color? Or maybe the top of it ground at an angle or something?
