I am getting ready to tackle the left brake on my 1066 that I purchased a few weeks ago. I knew when I bought it that this brake was not working well but the other side works great. You can push hard on it in the field and very little braking occurs and needless to say no assistance in turning is realized. I have an IT manual(I'm cheap!!!) and it seems to show adequate directions and exploded view of assembly. From it I am assuming that the bull gear will not be removed when I pull brake piston housing. Is that correct? Any other surprises I can expect other than $$$ for parts. Looks like 2 discs, inner and outer piston seal rings, o-ring on piston housing and oil seal in this housing are the parts I am looking at purchasing. I am hoping everything else is ok as there is no oil leaking from housing assy.(outside) at present.
