Nat: I never suggested the Super A lacked any power, in fact it will give both my 130 and 140 a hard run in 2nd gear pulling my 17 tooth S-tine cultivator. By the way those cultivators require 1.25 to 1.5 hp per tooth. In fact not to long ago I hooked up to an implement that was making a Deere 2355 put out black smoke at about same speed as SA in 3rd gear. I pulled that implement in 3rd gear. Don't think there is much wrong with my SA.

What I did say, was that unless the mower blades were razor sharp the belt and pullies would be hot when done mowing my acre. Now don't come back and tell me my belt is loose, or I will pick you a tune of turkey in the straw on the belt.

Now I will admit I don't mow my grass as often as most folks, and I also have my mower set so blades are 4" off the floor in my shop when in mowing position. I always let my grass get 6-7 inches high before mowing, precisely why I have healthy looking grass always. I am constantly asked by folks why their grass looks poorly. I tell them they would look poorly too if wounded as often as they wound their grass. Besides a 4" lawn will not burn up as quick in dry weather.
