Actually, if you look closely at the flywheel, there is a channel and three holes to expel extra grease from the pilot bearing. But, how often do you grease the pilot bushing on a 1950"s vintage car or pickup? Every time the transmission is out. Once per year is often enough in my book. Most guys don't know you can grease them so they never get greased and it is not a failure point. Since the pilot bearing does no work when the clutch is engaged, a working tractor gets less time on the bearing than a show tractor which may spend more time idling with the clutch depressed waiting for a line to move forward. I grease the throwout bearing every time I grease the rest of the tractor, cause I like to clean out gobs of grease when I work on the clutch.
