I don"t think I would T the return line from the spool back into the suction line. If nothing else, it allows the oil to return to the resevoir and cool down a bit, rather than being in a tight loop potentially cycling from the pump to valve to pump to valve........ Maybe a hyd expert would say it doesn"t matter, but I wouldn"t do it that way. With two way hyds, the oil is ALWAYS circulating. Yes, there needs to be a vent in the resevoir since the level of fluid will fluctuate a bit as you use the hydraulics, even on a two way system, but especially on a one-way cylinder. Even if it didn"t, as the fluid heats up it will expand. Paul
