You are better off swapping the whole rear end assembly and not do as I did, as I toke the parts out of the original rear end and put them in a different casting (my transmission/differential casting was broke out on the bottom). I spent a lot of time realigning the differental ring and pinion gear including having to purchase some more shims to complete the alignment. If you haven't worked on a Cub before one thing to be careful on is that the drive shaft is one long shaft that runs from the clutch to the back of the transmission and can easily be bent. The splines on my drive shaft were bad so I got a good used one. Turns out the used one was bent, which I assumed was done when they removed the casting between the engine and transmission. Roger
