Mike,
I had plug fouling problems with my M until I went to the hottest plug I could find, a Champion D21.
The A-C C86 is the equivalent, I think.
The other thing you need to check is the plug wires. They should be copper core, not the resistor type wires used on cars.
Then adjust the carb idle and high speed jets for best performance. Good luck,
