I think it will work to have 2.8 gallons. Mine would be fine except for the power steering system using the hydraulics and creating heat in the system. If you need the single action valve, you are on the right track to tee into the pressure line. It may not look pretty (like mine), but it will work and be useful (the most important thing to me). Others will chime in with their opinions, I'm sure.
