For a project, I need a spin-on bypass oil filter head. It's a simple casting, 2 threaded ports, restrictor is built into the filter.

WIX has one, my WIX jobber quoted about $25.00, but it turns out he can't get one for 2 to 3 weeks through his supplier.

Deere uses the exact same base on certain tractors... the filters interchange... the head is readily available from Deere... for $140.00.

Sounds a bit extreme to me, but I guess things like this are the norm now!
