I AM THE ONE WHO SAID TO USE WHITE VINEGER AS IT WILL DESOLVE RUST IN A VERY SHORT TIME BUT DO NOT LEAVE IT IN VERY LONG NO MORE THAN A COUPLE OF DAYS. IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THAT IT IS THE BEST THING TO USE NEXT TO WATER SINCE WATER WAS WHAT STUCK THE ENGINE TO START WITH AND WATER WILL DEFINATELY SOFTEN RUST BUT YOU CANT LEAVE IT FOR LONG EITHER
