Thanks, Sloroll! I have always wanted to go looking for it and had the same idea with the metal detector. Are the metal detectors today very accurate? We have a cheap radio shack one, but it would go deep enough or do a good job. Do you think it would be in any salvagable shape after 89 years?? Especially in a sand hill with the mositure and rust i am sure has eaten it away. I would have to cut down some huge pine trees to get at it when i found the exact location. How many of these 8-16s are left running/non-running? If they were only made 2 years i am guessing not many. Has anyone seen a restored one? I would like to see a color picture. thanks, Don
