Most of those tractors that were originally 6 volts had a + positive ground. Does it have an alternator or generator. The alternator would be - negative grounded. The ignition could still be 6 volts if they used a ballast resistor between the ignition switch and coil or used a 12 volt coil. Hal

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
