Steve, You can also pull the PTO and remove the cap screw that holds the bull gear on. If you remove the four bolts that hold the bearing retainer and seal on you can slide the axle out enough to move the bull gear back and to the side to take out the bull pinion assembly. There isn't a lot of room, but it can be done. I once broke a cast Bull pinion assembly by pulling it out without moving the bull gear (DOHHH!!##XX%%). A mistake I will never make again!! My local salvage yard had one, and they should not be hard to find. When you go back together make sure you roller bearings are tight in the cast assembly. If they are not you will have excessive end play. Let us know how you come out and if you have problems, there are a lot of folks on here with a lot more experience than me. Buy a tractor manual first chance you get, I sure should have ;) Good Luck Paul
