When I was doing plowing on continuous rowcrop land, mostly real heavy clay 4X16 was big enough for the 1086 with 20.8x38R2 tires. Neighbours used comparable MFs or JDs and 120-130 HP for 4X16s. To pull 5Xs needed to go to 150plus HP and 4X4. Luckily notill combined with reduced till now prevails, as does a market dictated hay crop rotation! With the older 06s and clamp wheels, the wheels broke.
