Hoss, those pieces ended up in the filter housing because the transmission and the hydraulic system share the same oil, and the hydraulic pick-up tube runs from the bottom of the range transmission to the filter housing. Pull the top cover and check out the reverse driven gear, it's the rearmost gear on the top shaft. Unfortunatly, that gear is almost the last thing to come out of that transmission after splitting the range transmission from the speed transmission, removing the PTO unit, removing both final drives, and removing the rockshaft assembly.
