you will find a deep channel in the deck plate so the seat frame can move up and down,the seat is difrent, pto is difrent also,it will probley be a distillate motor also,look for little tank under sheet metal.gas tank filler is at a difrent angle. the thing to do is get a H part,s book and then you can check every thing, i think first part of 1940 was same as 1939,s
