I think I paid around $2800 for my 600 ten years ago, but it is a nice running one. Sheet metal was okay, original paint, but the starting system was cobbled up and the starter needed to be rebuilt. So I wouldn"t think that IF the motor is basically okay and the head isn"t cracked, a price in the $3000 to $3500 range isn"t out of line with the way prices have been going up on machinery. Make sure he gets it running and listen for missing, puffs of blue/white smoke, look for bubbles in the radiator, etc. You can get used 18.4x34 tires that are nice pretty reasonably, they are common. If you have a salvage yard around you can even get the 7.50x18 fronts used, like I did. Many of the older combines used that tire on the back. The other thing is, is it close to you? If you find one three states away for a thousand less, you"ll pay that back in trucking. It"s not something to put on a utility trailer! I use mine on the farm, and in the beginning, it was my biggest horse, so I"ve spent some time on it. I wouldn"t part with it. So if that one checks out, go for it! Paul
