The magnetic suppression wires eliminate the static at the source. All electrical flow creats magnetism the spark plug wires are really just good antennas when made with regular stranded copper. The wound wires are made to dampen the emitted magnetism. Regular wires can send static about a mile. Some electrical devices can "hear" the static even further away than that. Carbon impregnated, or ferromagnetic powder wires also eliminate static, but they are not as reliable in strength, nor as long lasting. These resistor style wires also increase the voltage required to jump the gap at the plug. This can be a good thing as higher spark voltage is usually better. The truth is that if the plug fires the mixture, its job is done, the flame front in the chamber does the rest. I like to set the plugs .005" wider in gap and use the Magnetic Suppression Wound wires. They are deluxe. JimN
