Should be under the valve cover. A visial inspection would be like this,,, the casting area where the manifold bolts on, will be different, the compression chamber is very shallow and much wider than the other heads, its almost an exact shape as the fire ring in a 450 head gasket,,, (the compression chamber) the other thing that identifies the LP head is the price tag,,,,, if he knows what he has,,, the price will tell ya. But, nothing wrong at all with a good deal!! its a night and day visual ID,,,Ive got some pictures I can show ya on what they look like,, Chad
