George, you hit the nail on the head. This is a common thing with the touch control equiped tractors. There is I think two rubber O rings in the pump just in front of the distributer and it is common for these to leak dumping oil into the crank case. Not a hard fix at all. Sometimes there will be a groove in the shaft that requires a speedy sleeve to fix but someone else will have to help you with that. I have not done that. Oh the O rings can be picked up at a CIH dealer if one is close to you. Paul
