I agree with Allen's comment below, the engine needs opened up to see what you're dealing with here. You could be dealing with a complete overhaul or the replacement of the oil cooler.

You've got a tractor that has been used by people other then the owner that had half @$$ed repair methods used to get it off their place before it broke down completely. Does the term "whipped like a government mule" mean anything? I'd be very leery of this unit.
