Spent 23 years in the Army. We had Super As, Ford 601s, INT 340s, and many many CATs painter green.
The government ordered them that way.
Most were used for light work, flight line work or mowing grass.
At Ft Belvoir in 1962 we had INT 140s with belly mowers painted greem. They used them to mow the golf course.
