I don't know for sure. (Seems I know nothing for sure nowadays!) However, it would stand to reason that a distillate head would have a lower compression ratio than a gasoline head. Distillate has very poor anti-knock qualities therefore, it can't stand as a high of a compression ratio than gasoline. Heck, when the W-9 came out in 1940, gasoline itself wasn't all that great then, so the 335 gas engine had a CR of 5.4:1. Conversely, LP has good anti-knock qualities, and LP engines have typically higher CRs than their gas and distillate counterparts. Many Nebraska tests show the LP versions of an engine besting a gasoline version in BHP.
