One other item I should have said, when my Deere was about 12 years old with a pair of 5 year old 12 volt batteries in parallel, about Christmas time I noticed it little sluggish on cranking. I installed all new factory original cables. Two years and 3 month later the batteries gave up. Went there one morning in March and it was dead, as it was every morning from then on until I installed new batteries. The old batteries would start the Deere all day, but wouldn't hold over night. Just shows you what good cables can do. Close to 30% added to the life of those batteries. By the way that Deere was run daily all winter.
